In the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we see God's followers forced to make a difficult choice--follow the commandments of Nebuchadnezzar or follow their convictions to serve God only. We see in their respectful refusal the right way to handle cultural pressure to compromise our service to God--taking a stand to trust Him with potential difficult consequences. Like these men, we face pressure to compromise and must examine our convictions--are we ready to pay the price to follow God?
